Reporting to the Purchasing Manager, the Buyer is responsible for the purchasing function of all assigned materials and off-load manufacturing processes beginning with bid proposal through receipt of materials and inventory management.? Implicit in this position is the qualification of suppliers to meet quality, cost and delivery requirements.? This position requires coordination with the Manufacturing Planner, Production Planner, and shop employees.


Execute commodity sourcing strategies and participate in supplier negotiations.? Identify possible suppliers and submit Request for Proposal for materials or processing, as needed to support production and limit costs.? Receive and evaluate bids against cost controls.? Coordinate quality review of supplier

Place, monitor and maintain purchase orders that meet quality, delivery, and cost expectations.? Monitor ERP for order releases and exception messages to manage inventories at levels to avoid production disruption.

Negotiate purchase agreements with approved suppliers of assigned material and processes. Interface with Supplier Quality to ensure supplier performance; regularly evaluate selection/reduction process to yield continuous improvement in the quality of sourced product.

Contacts vendors to resolve discrepancies in order delivery, quality, or quantity with minimal impact on production schedule.?

Responsible for handling 50-100 million of year spend.

Collaborate with Manufacturing Planner to identify materials requirements for new parts and modifications of existing production.

Coordinate with enterprise Material Management to develop and manage aggressive material cost and inventory reduction targets.

Work directly with Program Management and shop personnel to coordinate internal Offload activity at suppliers

Support the negotiation and supplier selection process to facilitate make/buy decisions or offload in support of capacity planning objectives

Support Design for manufacturing initiatives in the supply base.

Providing ad hoc support to planning function in urgent circumstances.

2-5 years of buying, sourcing, supply chain or business analytical experience

Able to work in a fast pace environment

Proven ability to work efficiently with excellent time management skills

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Able to drive change

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
